REMUNERATION TO THE HOSTS

The weekly rates depend on the property's condition and amenities, location and meal plan offered and generally vary between £100 to £300 per week. You will have your assigned rate once your registration is complete. Payments are made every 2 weeks in arrears via bank transfer to the hosts’ bank account.

How long is a typical homestay?

Who are the guests and where do they come from?

What are my responsibilities as a host?

Most Host Family Stay guests are students or interns between the ages of 16-28 and many come from EU countries. They visit UK to either study English, get a work experience or participate on a semester abroad, Erasmus or other exchange programme.
Typical duration of homestay with host families is 2 to 4 weeks, although some guests prefer to stay for up to 5-6 months, subject to their host's availability. You you are welcome to host for as long as you prefer at any one time.
Hosts must provide a bed, wardrobe and a study space as well as meal plan(s), breakfast as a minimum. Hosts will be expected to be friendly, help the guests improve their spoken English and guide them as they adjust to their life in the UK.
